Community safety: an introduction eLearning

This course provides a brief overview of what 'community safety' is and how it works in Derbyshire. You'll also discover where to find further information, support and training.

It is aimed at Derbyshire County Council employees, elected members and Derbyshire schools staff and is accessed via the Derbyshire Learning Online (Learning Pool).

Accessing this eLearning course

Derbyshire County Council employees, elected members and Derbyshire school employees with SAP payroll numbers can access these eLearning courses, as they already have accounts set up within Derbyshire Learning Online. 

Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire school employees without SAP payroll numbers should email: dlo@derbyshire.gov.uk to request access.

Access to community safety eLearning courses by non-Derbyshire County Council staff or partnership agencies in Derbyshire will be considered on a case by case basis. To enquire, please email: communitysafety.training@derbyshire.gov.uk

How to login to the eLearning course

If you are logging into Derbyshire Learning Online for the first time, please see the 'How to login to community safety eLearning courses' document attached to this page and follow the step by step instructions carefully. Please ensure that pop-ups are enabled in your browser before you start. Guidance on how to do this can be found on pages four to six of the document.

If you have logged in before to complete other Derbyshire County Council eLearning modules, simply login with your SAP payroll number and your previously saved password. Search for 'community safety' or ‘CSI’ in the search bar and then click on ‘Community safety: an introduction' to access the course.

The guide 'How to login to community safety eLearning courses' is aimed at those who have accounts set up for them already, for example, Derbyshire County Council staff and schools. It will not work for partners who are not set up to use the learning platform.

How to complete the course

There are two steps to completing the course: 

  • complete the community safety: an introduction eLearning module
  • complete the evaluation 

When you are on the course page, we suggest you scroll down and read all the elements on the page, before you launch the eLearning module. If all sections are marked fully completed, you will be able to access and print off your certificate of completion.

Logging in

If you have any difficulties logging in, please ensure you have read the information on this page and have followed the step-by-step instructions in the 'How to login to community safety eLearning courses' document. 

If, after working through the document, you still have issues logging in, please email: dlo@derbyshire.gov.uk

Remember, if your organisation does not have access to Derbyshire Learning Online, you will not be able to login.

If you can't access your certificate

If you think you have completed all elements of the course, but have not been able to access your certificate, please check the ‘Community safety introduction course completion guide’. This will help you spot any sections you may have missed and help you gain access to your certificate.
