Community Safety Webinars
There are a range of webinars that have been developed to raise awareness of community safety issues, highlighting relevant legislation and support for victims
Webinars are delivered regularly by the Community Safety Team and partner organisations. For information on dates currently available visit Derbyshire Learning Online.
This free 1.5 hour webinar will help you learn more about the Statutory Prevent Duty, understand risk and threat nationally and locally, spot the signs of radicalisation and know how to share your concerns in Derbyshire. It is designed for frontline Derbyshire practitioners, who work in communities or work with vulnerable individuals, and have little or no knowledge about Prevent. (A pre-recorded webinar is available for colleagues that find it difficult to access a live session.)
This free 2 hour webinar is designed for frontline Derbyshire practitioners who have little or no knowledge about domestic abuse and who want to know what it is, and the different forms it takes, including control and coercion. You will also learn about the support on offer for victims in Derbyshire.
This free 2 hour webinar is designed for frontline Derbyshire practitioners who have little or no knowledge about domestic abuse risk assessment and who want to know how to support victims to access domestic abuse services. We’ll also look at when to refer to MARAC and how to apply your professional judgement.
It will help if you have a basic understanding about Domestic Abuse before attending the webinar, so you may wish to complete the 'Domestic Abuse: An Introduction' eLearning course or Domestic Abuse Awareness Webinar, if you have not had any domestic abuse training in the last couple of years.
This free 1.5 hour webinar is for Derbyshire practitioners who have little or no knowledge about Hate Crime. The session covers what hate crime is, who it affects, related legislation, UK and local picture, how to report hate crime and support available for victims.
This free 1.5 hour webinar has been developed and is delivered in partnership with SV2 and SAIL Derbyshire. It is designed for frontline Derbyshire practitioners who have little or no knowledge about sexual abuse and who want to know what it is and understand the signs and indicators. You will also learn how to support victims to access sexual abuse services.
This free 2 hour 15 minute webinar is for frontline Derbyshire practitioners who have little or no knowledge about Modern Slavery and who want to know how what it is, how to spot the signs and how to respond effectively.
This 2 hour 15 minute webinar is aimed at frontline Derbyshire practitioners working with both adults and children. It will help you develop a greater awareness of what 'Online Harms' are, including gaining a better understanding of what types of content or behaviour might be considered 'illegal' or which may be 'harmful'.
You will understand how online harms can occur, how to spot the signs that someone is experiencing online harm or abuse and the consequences of perpetrating online abuse and where to get help and support.
This free 2 hour webinar will enable you to explore what substance misuse is, its effects on community safety and support available for people within Derbyshire.
This webinar is open to anyone from any agency in Derbyshire wishing to learn more about substance misuse in a community safety setting, related impacts and vulnerabilities and how to refer in to local services.
How to access
Our training is available to community safety partners within Derbyshire. We have webinars available for Derbyshire County Council staff and Derbyshire SAP schools. Other partner agencies must request access to webinars, these are considered on a case by case basis. email dlo@derbyshire.gov.uk for more information.
All training needs line manager approval.
Book a course
You need to have a Derbyshire Learning Online user account to be able to book onto our courses.
If you have an account
If you already have an account:
- login to Derbyshire Learning Online
- using the course search function search for your chosen course
- enrol onto to the course
- you will then see a list of available events
- select your chosen event and ‘sign-up’ to book your place
- please ensure you fill in all mandatory fields
- submit your booking
- you will receive an email confirmation of your booking
- if you need to cancel or amend your booking you will need to do this via Derbyshire Learning Online
- if we need to cancel or amend your booking, we will let you know - for example, an administrator may ask you to change sessions if we have more than our set quota of delegates from your organisation
Request an account for Derbyshire Learning Online
If you have completed community safety courses in the past, you should already have an account set up. You can login using the username and password you used previously.
If you do not have an account, follow the instructions for your organisation below:
Derbyshire partner agencies and school governors
Derbyshire partner agency staff, volunteers and school governors wishing to book onto community safety courses will need to create an account to access Derbyshire Learning Online. You will only need to do this once.
- to request a registration key please email: dlo@derbyshire.gov.uk
- tell us which course you are interested in and which organisation you are from
- you will receive an email detailing how to create an account, including a registration key
- once your account has been approved, you will be able to access both community safety classroom-based courses and eLearning modules - it may take a few days for your account to be approved

Derbyshire County Council employees
Derbyshire County Council employees, elected members and Derbyshire school employees with SAP payroll numbers should already have accounts set up within Derbyshire Learning Online. You can log-in with your SAP payroll number or email address and your saved password.
Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire school employees without SAP payroll numbers should email: dlo@derbyshire.gov.uk to request access.
